Local Priorities Nuisance motorbikes / Scooters Concern Update / Operation Grebe

I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Nuisance motorbikes / Scooters, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey.

There was a warrant carried out in the Dowlais area recently where a number of e-bikes amongst other things were seized.

This warrant was part of Operation Grebe, which is designed to stop these e-bikes causing issues in your communities especially where young people are being exploited.

Please continue to report any issues with e-bikes on the following link which will give us the ability to gather further information and build intelligence to carry out further warrants in your communities:

Tackling antisocial behaviour can be a complex issue, and one which requires input and action from more than just the police.

February 2025 saw the publication of the Ministry of Justice Crime and Policing Bill: Antisocial behaviour (ASB) factsheet. This outlined a number of new measures including making powers to seize vehicles under section 59 of the Police Reform Act 2002 easier to use, allowing the police to react robustly and immediately to the anti-social use of motor vehicles.

If you witness a motor vehicle or mechanically propelled vehicle being driven/ridden in an anti-social manner in a public place or on a public road, or have information regarding an incident, please report it using our online reporting tools at www.southwalespolice.police.uk, speak to an operator in our Force Communications Room via our online web chat or call the non-emergency number 101.
